Realizing a commissioned work involves an act of empathy. Making art work is, in most instances, a service-based enterprise. In the case of an art commission, this undercurrent is being channeled and directly addressed. It can even get a little personal, which is where the fun starts… Taking into consideration the specifics of the context as well as the client’s tastes and preferences becomes a profitable venture. And, similar to the giving of a gift, it can also be personally very rewarding to make the recipient happy.

For you, Caroline: a present wrapped in white paper, with ribbons and a pattern of silver hearts. It is a minimalistic object, yet can be viewed literally & purely symbolically as well. I hope you like it!
